October Pet Loss Remembrance Walk

Our September Remembrance Walk was an incredible honor to host and be companions alongside others on this journey. Very special people came together to share their beautiful and powerful stories of their beloved animals. We are looking forward to hosting our next Remembrance Walk on Sunday, October 14 at Fort Steilacoom Park. This walk will include a brief ceremony at 9:30 am to remember and honor our beloved animal family members, followed by a walk around Waughop Lake. Come be with humans who can appreciate your loss and how it has impacted your life; you are welcome to find kindred spirits through conversation or quietly observe and reflect in nature.

These monthly walks are brought to you by a partnership between Summit Veterinary Referral Center and Slobbered Lens. Rachel Wright, a veterinary social worker with Summit, facilitates the ceremony and offers gentle guidance in establishing rituals and individual grief journeys. Shannon MacFarlane, the owner and artist of Slobbered Lens, provides tools to preserve the stories of these incredible creatures who change our lives.
